A notable development in the cryptocurrency market reveals that large investors, often referred to as XRP whales, have been steadily accumulating tokens over the past five weeks. According to on-chain data from analytics firm Santiment, wallets holding between 100,000 and 100 million XRP have collectively increased their holdings by 2.8%. This period of accumulation has coincided with XRP's price climbing back above the $1.16 mark.

Conversely, during the same five-week span, micro-wallets holding less than 0.01 XRP reduced their balances by 5.2%. This divergence highlights a clear split in behavior between institutional-scale investors and the smallest retail participants. The sustained accumulation by larger holders is seen as a significant factor supporting XRP's recent price recovery.

Further reinforcing the bullish sentiment, whale deposits to centralized exchanges like Binance have dropped to their lowest level since January 2025, signaling a reduction in selling pressure from large holders. Lower inflows to exchanges are generally interpreted as a sign that fewer tokens are being queued up for sale, thereby limiting immediate supply pressure on the market.

Market observers note that such whale accumulation, especially when accompanied by retail capitulation, is often considered a positive signal for a cryptocurrency's future price trajectory. Santiment data indicates that XRP's price has historically shown a stronger correlation with the activity of major holders rather than that of tiny retail wallets. Additionally, growing institutional access through XRP exchange-traded fund (ETF) products and ongoing developments in Ripple's legal dispute with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) are also contributing to positive market sentiment.

The broader cryptocurrency market has also experienced a general recovery, with Bitcoin's climb above $65,000 providing a supportive backdrop for XRP's upward movement. Discussions surrounding the CLARITY Act in the U.S. Senate and potential regulatory clarity also form an important context for XRP. However, geopolitical tensions and broader macroeconomic uncertainties continue to exert some pressure on the overall market.

Analysts project that if XRP maintains its position above $1.16, it could test resistance levels at $1.20 and $1.22. Sustained spot buying and robust demand will be crucial for XRP to break past these levels and potentially move towards the $1.30 range. Conversely, a daily close below $1.11 could invalidate the current recovery and increase the risk of a deeper price correction.
