U.S. President Donald Trump said he believes Russian President Vladimir Putin may be offering some level of assistance to Iran as tensions escalate in the Middle East following U.S. and Israeli military operations against Tehran.

Speaking in an interview, Trump said Putin "might be helping them a little bit," referring to Iran’s ongoing confrontation with the United States and Israel. The remarks come amid reports from U.S. intelligence officials suggesting that Russia may have provided information that could help Iran target American military assets in the region.

According to officials familiar with the intelligence, the information allegedly shared could assist Tehran in identifying U.S. warships, aircraft or other military positions in the Middle East. However, the intelligence assessments have not found evidence that Moscow is directly directing Iranian military operations.

Meanwhile, U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff said Russian officials told President Trump that Moscow is not sharing intelligence with Iran during the conflict. Washington has warned Russia against any cooperation that could support Iranian attacks as the conflict continues to raise geopolitical and energy market risks.
