RAVE token collapses 90% in a day amid widening exchange probes

RAVE’s native token plunged roughly 90% within a single day, trading near $1.15 on Sunday after hitting about $27.33 on Friday, a fall that wiped out more than $5 billion of market value in a matter of days.

The move followed an extreme parabolic rally in which the token rose many-fold from low single‑digit cents into the tens of dollars over a short span. On‑chain analysts flagged that three wallets controlled the bulk of circulating supply and that roughly 18.58 million RAVE were moved to Bitget shortly before the surge—transactions that raised manipulation concerns and prompted internal reviews at major exchanges, including Binance and Bitget.

Market impact was immediate: large liquidations of leveraged positions were reported and intraday volatility spiked, with futures markets and short positions particularly affected. Several platforms experienced heavy order flow and temporary execution irregularities as the token dislocated from earlier price levels and volumes collapsed.

The episode highlights persistent structural risks in illiquid tokens—high concentration of supply, rapid on‑exchange flows and speculative derivatives activity can produce outsized moves unrelated to fundamental product developments. The widening of exchange probes raises the prospect of closer exchange governance scrutiny and possible listing reviews, which could influence similar assets.
