Parex Resources Inc. (TSX: PXT) released its financial and operational results for the three-month period ended June 30, 2026. The company reported a strong performance, particularly influenced by the acquisition of Frontera E&P, and announced a regular dividend of C$0.385 per share for the third quarter of 2026. These developments underscore the company's operational resilience and success in its growth strategy.

The company successfully closed the acquisition of Frontera Energy Corporation's Colombian exploration and production assets on June 1, 2026, positioning Parex as Colombia's largest independent oil and gas producer. This strategic move boosted the average Q2 production to 54,121 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/d) from 44,735 boe/d in the previous quarter. Furthermore, average production for July 2026 reached approximately 83,500 boe/d. Net income surged to $444 million from $49 million in the comparative quarter of 2025, primarily attributed to a $302 million gain on the Frontera acquisition. Adjusted funds flow provided by operations (FFO) amounted to $191 million.

These robust operational and financial results enabled Parex to reaffirm its H2 2026 production guidance, projecting an average of 82,000 to 91,000 boe/d. The company's updated independent reserves reports were also noteworthy; including the Frontera and Magdalena Basin assets, proved developed producing (PDP), 1P, and 2P reserves increased by 82%, 83%, and 71% respectively on an indicative basis. These figures send positive signals to the markets regarding the company's future production capacity and value potential.

The Frontera E&P acquisition represents a significant consolidation within Colombia's energy market, solidifying Parex's regional leadership. This strategic merger serves the company's objectives of increasing its operational scale, reducing market volatility, and enhancing capital allocation flexibility. Despite fluctuations in global energy demand, Parex's strong reserve base and operational efficiency provide a solid foundation for future growth. In this context, new assets in the Magdalena Basin are also expected to contribute approximately 15,000 bbl/d in production participation during H2 2026.

Imad Mohsen, President & Chief Executive Officer of Parex Resources, stated that the integration of Frontera assets exceeded expectations and transformed the company into a larger, more resilient entity. Analysts anticipate continued stable growth from Parex in the upcoming period, given the strong production figures, increased reserves, and the successful integration of strategic acquisitions. The company's focus on expanding market share and enhancing operational efficiency continues to offer a long-term investment perspective.
