OpenTrade raises $17M to expand stablecoin yield platform globally
OpenTrade secured $17M to scale its stablecoin-yield infrastructure, backing Curation+ and SIERRA strategies to serve fintechs and institutions worldwide.

OpenTrade announced a $17 million strategic funding round that lifts its total capital raised to over $30 million, aiming to scale its stablecoin-yield infrastructure for global clients. The company said the proceeds will be used to expand permissioned and permissionless rails and to deepen its vault-focused services.
The round was led by Mercury Fund and Notion Capital, with participation from a16z Crypto, AlbionVC and CMCC Global. CEO and co-founder David Sutter told industry press the financing will accelerate growth of Curation+, strengthen SIERRA liquid-yield token infrastructure and expand engineering, asset management and customer success teams to support fintechs, exchanges and institutional treasuries.
OpenTrade described its model as a tokenized-vault architecture that allocates capital across real-world assets such as money market funds, investment-grade commercial paper and trade finance, while integrating selected on-chain strategies. The firm reported it has surpassed approximately $200 million in total value locked (TVL) and processed significantly higher transaction volumes in early 2026 versus 2025.
The raise arrives as policymakers in the United States debate the CLARITY Act, a broader market-structure bill addressing stablecoin rules and the permissibility of yield-like incentives on stablecoin balances. OpenTrade executives said clearer regulatory frameworks could create tailwinds for institutional adoption by reducing legal uncertainty around stablecoin rewards and product distribution.
Market observers say the funding positions OpenTrade to capture growing demand from embedded-finance players that want to offer regulated, RWA-backed stablecoin returns. Near-term indicators to watch include the performance and liquidity of SIERRA-backed vaults, the uptake of Curation+ by partner fintechs, and how evolving regulatory guidance in the US and EU affects product distribution and compliance requirements.
