Mother Parkers Opens New Ontario Facility to Meet Surging Cold Coffee Demand
Mother Parkers Tea & Coffee officially inaugurated its "Complete Extract Solutions" facility in Mississauga, Ontario, to address the escalating demand for cold coffee across North America. This multi-million-dollar strategic investment strengthens the company's coffee extract solutions portfolio. The new facility offers commercial-scale manufacturing capabilities for foodservice, retail, and industrial clients.
Mother Parkers Tea & Coffee has announced the official opening of its state-of-the-art "Complete Extract Solutions" facility in Mississauga, Ontario, designed to cater to the rapidly growing demand for cold coffee applications in the North American market. This move represents a significant milestone in the company's multi-year, multi-million-dollar strategic investment plan focused on coffee extract solutions. The new facility is poised to enable foodservice, retail, private-label, and industrial customers to scale their cold coffee offerings across Canada and the United States.
Housed within Mother Parkers' existing 320,000-square-foot facility in Mississauga, this purpose-built operation integrates aseptic processing and commercial-scale manufacturing with format flexibility. The Ontario government had previously supported this substantial investment, providing C$5 million through the Advanced Manufacturing and Innovation Competitiveness stream of its Regional Development Program in 2023. This support was part of a larger C$33.4 million investment aimed at boosting local manufacturing and creating new jobs in the region. Danielle Barran, President & CEO of Mother Parkers Tea & Coffee, emphasized the company's investment in innovation, stating that customers require practical, scalable ways to bring cold coffee solutions to market with consistency, quality, and operational simplicity.
This development comes amidst a robust growth trajectory for the North American cold coffee market. According to Circana's CREST® data for the 12 months ending December 2025, cold coffee servings in Canadian quick-service restaurants constituted almost a quarter of total coffee servings, marking a two-point increase from 2024. Among 18-to-24-year-olds in Canadian quick-service restaurants, cold coffee accounted for more than half of all coffee servings. Market research indicates that the North America cold brew coffee market was valued at USD 328.67 million in 2025 and is projected to grow at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 18.20% between 2026 and 2035, reaching an estimated USD 1749.58 million by 2035. This growth is fueled by increasing consumer preference for specialty beverages, health-conscious options, and the convenience of ready-to-drink (RTD) formats.
Mother Parkers Tea & Coffee, a fourth-generation family-owned manufacturer and supplier, has evolved from a small wholesale grocery distributor in Toronto into a global tea and coffee enterprise. The company produces its own brands alongside private-label products for some of North America's largest retailers and restaurant chains. The Ontario government's support for this investment underscores its commitment to strengthening the province's manufacturing capacity and fostering local economic growth. Ontario Premier Doug Ford and Minister of Agriculture, Food, and Agribusiness Trevor Jones visited the new facility, acknowledging Mother Parkers' ongoing investment in Ontario-based manufacturing and innovation.
Market analysts and industry experts anticipate sustained rapid growth in the cold coffee category. Technomic forecasts predict that the total cold coffee finished gallon volume in U.S. foodservice will grow at a 6.2% compound annual growth rate from 2025 to 2030. Mother Parkers' strategic investment positions the company to solidify its leadership in this expanding market and to provide innovative, high-quality, and scalable solutions to its diverse customer base. The company aims to continue adapting to evolving consumer preferences and play a pivotal role in the North American beverage market.
