Lucid Unveils 3 New Models and Robotaxi in Midsize EV Push
Lucid revealed plans for three new vehicles on its upcoming midsize platform during its investor day. The lineup will include two SUVs called Cosmos and Earth alongside a future robotaxi strategy.
Lucid Group outlined its next phase of growth during its March 12, 2026 investor day, unveiling plans for a new midsize electric‑vehicle platform that will underpin three upcoming consumer models. The U.S. EV maker said the strategy is designed to expand beyond its current premium lineup and target higher‑volume segments of the global EV market.
According to the company, the midsize architecture will support two sport‑utility vehicles named Cosmos and Earth. Lucid also confirmed that a third consumer vehicle will be developed on the same platform, although the model name and detailed specifications have not yet been publicly disclosed.
The new platform is expected to play a key role in Lucid’s effort to reach a broader customer base with vehicles priced closer to the mass market. Industry reports suggest the midsize vehicles could start around the $50,000 range, with production targeted to begin in late 2026 as the company expands its manufacturing footprint and product portfolio.
Lucid also reiterated its ambitions in autonomous mobility. The company is working with Uber and autonomous technology firm Nuro on a robotaxi program that will use modified Lucid Gravity vehicles. The service is expected to launch first in the United States, marking Lucid’s entry into the emerging autonomous ride‑hailing market.
