Leonardo Targets Higher Revenue and Earnings on Defense Order Boom
Italian defense group Leonardo expects orders to rise to about €25 billion this year from €23.8 billion last year, as global defense spending surges. The company targets €32 billion in annual orders by the end of the decade.
Italian aerospace and defense group Leonardo expects stronger revenue and earnings growth as global military spending continues to rise. The company said robust demand for defense systems is supporting a growing pipeline of new contracts across its core business segments.
According to company data, Leonardo recorded about €23.8 billion in new orders last year, reflecting strong demand for its defense electronics, helicopter, and aeronautics businesses. For the current year, the group expects order intake to increase further to roughly €25 billion.
The company also outlined ambitious long‑term targets. Leonardo aims to increase annual orders to around €32 billion by the end of the decade, supported by expanding capabilities in areas such as defense electronics, helicopters, cybersecurity, and space technologies.
Rising defense budgets across Europe and NATO countries have fueled demand for military equipment and advanced security technologies. With a strong backlog and continued investment in high‑tech defense programs, Leonardo expects sustained growth in revenue and operating profitability in the coming years.
