IMCD Group opens new Technical Centre in Istanbul Ataşehir
IMCD Group opened a new Technical Centre in Istanbul's Ataşehir. Labs were consolidated and the first pharmaceutical lab will provide regional formulation support and training.

IMCD Group, the Netherlands-based distributor and formulation partner for speciality chemicals and ingredients, has officially inaugurated its new Technical Centre in Istanbul's Ataşehir district. The facility consolidates several previously separate technical units to strengthen the company’s service offering in Türkiye and the wider region.
The new centre brings together laboratories for Food & Nutrition, Beauty & Personal Care and Coatings & Construction under one roof and establishes IMCD’s first pharmaceutical laboratory in Türkiye. According to corporate statements, the pharmaceutical lab will support formulation development for solid, liquid and semi-solid dosage forms, perform analytical method development and apply Quality by Design (QbD) and risk-based approaches, serving both the domestic market and neighbouring regions including the Middle East, Maghreb, Egypt, Kenya and South Africa.
Company leadership said the centre is designed to accelerate product selection, formulation optimisation, technical consultancy and hands-on collaboration with customers, while offering technical training and seminars to shorten innovation cycles. IMCD Türkiye General Manager Aylin Zakuto highlighted Türkiye’s strategic advantages and noted the local organisation’s long-standing presence and expertise in the market.
Market implications are expected to be most tangible in sectors that rely on rapid formulation and scale-up: food and beverage, cosmetics and personal care, and construction chemicals. Manufacturers in these segments could see faster time-to-market and reduced pilot-to-production friction, while pharmaceutical customers gain access to a regional technical partner capable of supporting complex development projects. The centre also strengthens IMCD’s ability to combine global knowledge with local execution.
Analysts note that distributor investments in technical infrastructure typically increase value-added service revenue and customer stickiness. Observers will monitor whether IMCD converts enhanced technical capacity into commercial growth through expanded project pipelines, local partnerships and deeper integration with regional supply chains. The pace of team expansion and effectiveness of client-facing services will be key performance indicators in the coming quarters.
