i-80 Gold (IAUX) Reports Q2 2026 Earnings, Production Surges Amidst Development Focus

i-80 Gold (IAUX) has released its financial results for the second quarter of 2026. The company characterized the first half of 2026 as a pivotal turning point, marked by a successful recapitalization, and reiterated its focus on accelerating development plans. Gold production saw a year-over-year increase during the second quarter, but sales volumes were impacted by delays at third-party processing facilities.

During the second quarter, i-80 Gold produced approximately 8,600 ounces of gold, bringing year-to-date production to about 17,500 ounces, keeping the company on track to meet its 2026 guidance of 30,000 to 40,000 ounces. However, despite producing roughly 11,100 ounces of gold in the quarter, only 5,300 ounces were sold due to limited availability at third-party processing facilities. This resulted in a build-up of approximately 5,300 recoverable ounces of gold in work-in-process inventory at quarter-end.

Financially, i-80 Gold reported revenues of $24.1 million for the second quarter, a decrease from the prior-year period. Despite this, gross profit significantly increased to $9.0 million. The company's net loss, however, widened to $53.0 million ($0.06 per share). This expansion was primarily driven by non-cash revaluation charges on new financial instruments, recapitalization financing costs, and higher pre-development expenses.

Company management emphasized that the successful recapitalization completed in the first quarter has strengthened their balance sheet, enabling a focused execution of their development plan. Richard Young, President and CEO of i-80 Gold, expressed satisfaction with the progress made in the second half of the year. The company has advanced key development projects, including the commencement of demolition for the Lone Tree Autoclave and CIL processing plant.

Looking ahead, management confirmed that the strengthened balance sheet is sufficient to fund the Phase One development plan, which targets an annual gold production of 150,000 to 200,000 ounces by 2028. Development at Granite Creek has progressed by 750 meters year-to-date, while the Archimedes main decline continues ahead of schedule. The company aims for the first gold production from the refurbished Lone Tree plant by the end of 2027. These advancements are crucial for the company's long-term growth strategy.
