Endeavour Silver Halts Operations at Terronera Mine Amid Illegal Blockade

Endeavour Silver Corp. (NYSE: EXK; TSX: EDR), a Canada-based silver producer, announced the temporary suspension of operations at its Terronera mine in Jalisco, Mexico, since August 12, following an illegal blockade. This development has brought production at the mine, a significant growth project for the company, to a halt.

According to the company, members of the nearby Ejido community, who initiated the blockade, are expressing concerns over road maintenance, assistance with medical services and communications, control and access to water supply, and increased financial assistance. The blockade has remained peaceful, orderly, and respectful to date. A reduced workforce remains on-site to support safety and security protocols, and access for maintenance activities continues.

Endeavour Silver is engaged in active discussions with Ejido community leaders to resolve the matter and resume full operations as soon as possible. The company stated that it has the ability to pursue legal action and will exercise all available legal remedies if the matter is prolonged. The Terronera mine, which commenced commercial production in October 2025, is one of Endeavour Silver's newest producing assets with an expected operating life of 10 years.

The suspension of operations could potentially impact the company's production targets for the current year. Endeavour Silver had projected Terronera to produce between 2.4 million and 2.6 million ounces of silver and up to 36,000 ounces of gold in 2026. The mine's commissioning was anticipated to significantly boost the company's consolidated silver and gold output.
