Discovery Mining Ltd. (TSX: DSV, OTCQX: DSVSF) has announced record revenue and substantial earnings growth for the second quarter of 2026. This strong performance was bolstered by the recent completion of the Kidd Operations acquisition and robust mining activities in the Timmins region. The results indicate that the company is making significant strides towards its strategic growth objectives.

The company reported revenues of $319.1 million in Q2 2026, more than doubling the figures from Q2 2025 and representing a 12% increase from the previous quarter. Net earnings reached $52.1 million, or $0.06 per share, a significant improvement from the $5.5 million in net earnings and $0.01 per share reported in Q2 2025. Adjusted net earnings stood at $92.3 million, or $0.11 per share. This financial uplift was partly due to a 33% year-over-year increase in gold production, reaching 67,309 ounces in Q2 2026, and a 12% increase compared to Q1 2026. Total capital expenditures rose to $86.4 million, considerably higher than the $44.2 million spent in Q2 2025.

A key driver behind these strong results was Discovery Mining's completion of the acquisition of Glencore Canada Corporation's Kidd Operations in June 2026. This strategic move creates the opportunity to more than double the company's gold production in the Timmins camp to over half a million ounces per year. Furthermore, the acquisition adds valuable processing capacity, land, and infrastructure, while also providing exposure to critical minerals such as copper, zinc, and silver, alongside significant exploration upside in the region.

This significant development in the mining sector is particularly impactful given Glencore's prior plans to close both the Kidd Metallurgical Site and the Kidd Creek Mine by the end of 2026. Discovery Mining's integration of these assets aims to sustain and enhance existing processing capabilities. The company also reported excellent drill results at all targets, including confirmation of Pamour as a large-scale deposit with substantial growth potential, further underscoring its long-term prospects.

Market analysts generally view Discovery Mining's acquisition of Kidd Operations and its robust second-quarter results as catalysts for accelerating the company's growth trajectory. The company's 2026 guidance anticipates production of 260,000 to 300,000 ounces, with a heavier weighting towards the second half of the year. This aligns with the company's objective to more than double its annual gold production through strategic investments in its Timmins assets. With increased liquidity and expanded credit facilities, Discovery Mining is well-positioned financially to fund its future growth projects.
