Binance Partners with STOP THE TRAFFIK in Anti-Human Trafficking Initiative

Binance, a leading cryptocurrency exchange, has taken a significant step in combating human trafficking and modern slavery by forming a strategic partnership with STOP THE TRAFFIK, a global non-profit organization. This collaboration aims to combine blockchain expertise with anti-trafficking intelligence to monitor and disrupt illicit financial flows, especially those facilitated by cryptocurrencies, which criminals increasingly exploit.

Under the partnership, Binance will receive specialized intelligence, training, and insights from STOP THE TRAFFIK's Centre for Intelligence-Led Prevention. This will enhance Binance's capacity to identify emerging criminal typologies linked to human trafficking and strengthen investigations into illicit activity. The collaboration also involves intelligence sharing and staff training, designed to bolster Binance's compliance and financial crime detection capabilities. Binance marks a notable milestone as the first crypto company to partner with STOP THE TRAFFIK in this vital endeavor.

Human trafficking continues to be a massive source of illicit finance globally. According to the NASDAQ 2026 Global Financial Crime Report, human trafficking generated an estimated $528.5 billion in illicit proceeds in 2025, showing a 23.5% growth between 2023 and 2025. More than 49.6 million people are estimated to be living in conditions of modern slavery worldwide. Traffickers are increasingly utilizing cryptocurrencies to launder money and evade law enforcement investigations.

Noah Perlman, Chief Compliance Officer at Binance, emphasized that financial crime prevention must continually evolve to address the real-world harms intertwined with illicit finance, including human trafficking and related exploitation. Perlman stated that this partnership would strengthen Binance's understanding of these threats and enhance its ability to contribute meaningfully to efforts that protect vulnerable communities. Nick Dale, STOP THE TRAFFIK's Director of Intelligence and Prevention, highlighted that traffickers rely on financial systems to launder money and are increasingly turning to cryptocurrencies to stay ahead of investigators.

This partnership is part of Binance's broader efforts to reinforce its compliance operations. In 2025, the company supported law enforcement in the takedown of Kidflix, one of the largest child exploitation platforms, and has responded to over 313,000 law enforcement requests worldwide. As the cryptocurrency industry faces growing pressure to prevent the financing of illicit activities, Binance's collaborations of this nature play a critical role in building trust within the sector and meeting evolving regulatory expectations.
