Eko has opened a 70,000-square-foot capture factory in Bentonville, Arkansas, intended to scale the capture of product imagery and structured data for an artificial intelligence–ready catalog. The move targets the growing demand for high-quality, machine-readable product content across e-commerce platforms.

According to the company, the facility is designed to process up to 750,000 items per year and includes specialized capture stages, sensor arrays and dedicated data pipelines. Eko also appointed Ben Kaufman as President and Chief Commercial Officer to oversee the site and commercial partnerships, and the buildout was linked to creating roughly 200 jobs with operations starting in June 2025.

Operational postings tied to the Bentonville site show demand for roles such as manicurists, product models, props and food stylists—positions intended to ensure on-camera presentation meets both aesthetic and functional standards. Those hires underscore that building an AI-ready catalog combines automated capture systems with considerable human styling and quality-control labor.

For markets, standardized and tagged product media can improve recommendation accuracy, product discovery and reduce return rates by giving consumers clearer visual and sensory cues. Retailers and marketplaces that secure reliable, high-quality feeds may gain short-term competitive advantage in conversion metrics and in integrating product metadata with generative shopping agents.
