Access Advance Announces 28 New Licensees Join HEVC Advance Patent Pool

According to the announcement by Access Advance LLC, 28 companies executed licenses to join the HEVC Advance Patent Pool during the first half of 2026. These new licensees span a wide range of industries, including consumer electronics, automotive, telecommunications, industrial technology, and professional security. Notably, nine video surveillance equipment manufacturers have joined the HEVC Advance program as licensees, including industry giants such as Dahua Technology, Hikvision, and Uniview, which collectively hold a significant share of global surveillance equipment shipments. Peter Moller, CEO of Access Advance, stated that HEVC remains the cornerstone of modern video delivery, and the demand from new licensees reflects the long-term commercial relevance of this technology. Moller also added that HEVC licensing activity has been consistently strong, and they are pleased to welcome a number of important new participants to the program. Access Advance manages the HEVC Advance Patent Pool, licensing over 29,000 patents essential to HEVC/H.265 technology.
