Stock Market Holidays 2025–2026: BIST, NYSE and Global Exchanges

Borsa Istanbul (BIST) is closed on Turkish national and religious holidays. On the eve of religious holidays it closes early at 13:00. NYSE and NASDAQ follow US federal holidays.

BIST 2025 Holidays

1 January — New Year's Day.

Eid al-Fitr (approx. 30 March–1 April 2025) — 3-day holiday. Early close at 13:00 on the eve.

23 April — National Sovereignty and Children's Day.

1 May — Labour and Solidarity Day.

19 May — Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day.

Eid al-Adha (approx. 6–9 June 2025) — 4-day holiday. Early close at 13:00 on the eve.

15 July — Democracy and National Unity Day.

29 October — Republic Day. Early close on 28 October afternoon.

NYSE & NASDAQ 2025 Holidays

1 Jan (New Year's), 20 Jan (MLK Day), 17 Feb (Presidents' Day), 18 Apr (Good Friday), 26 May (Memorial Day), 4 Jul (Independence Day), 1 Sep (Labor Day), 27 Nov (Thanksgiving), 25 Dec (Christmas).

Half-Day Trading Sessions

BIST closes at 13:00 on the eve of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, and in the afternoon of 28 October (Republic Day eve).

NYSE has a 13:00 ET early close on the day before Thanksgiving and sometimes on Christmas Eve.

Yes, most brokers accept orders at any time, but they are queued and only processed when the market reopens.

Are US markets affected by Turkish holidays?

No. Turkish national and regional holidays do not affect NYSE or NASDAQ trading schedules.
